The General Process:
Once I receive a sketch, a photo, or a basic idea, I will let you know if it's something I feel I can do for you in a timeframe that works. Generally, customers should expect a 6-to-10-week turnaround for an oil painting, depending on schedules, but this may vary if you are also purchasing any additional prints (such as metal prints) of your final painting.
Cost: Oil paintings can vary in price depending on size and scope of the project. If your project is something I feel I can accomplish, I will send you a proposal (bid) that will include the expected cost and time frame for your painting. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit of 50 percent is due before I begin work on your project. The remaining balance will be due when the project is complete (payment at time of delivery).
Other Factors: Final details and expectations may include meeting to discuss your artwork, going over any sketches and photos, and other details that may come up. While prices may vary depending on the project, below is a sample of what you can expect depending on the size of a painting.
Sample Prices: While these prices are not final, they will give an estimate for the cost of commissioning an oil-on canvas painting, from start to finish.
12 by 16-Inches: $885.00
14 by 18-inches: $950.00
16 by 20-inches: $1075.00
18 by 24-inches: $1125.00
50 percent of cost is due before I begin work on your project
Please Note: If there is a lot of custom-preparation involved, that may alter the price, however unless otherwise stated, the written proposal (bid) I send you will be final and will include appropriate taxes and fees.
