Description of artwork
A quaint cottage with an arched wooden entrance sits under a heavenly sky, surrounded by lush greenery and dappled with warm light. The setting evokes a sense of tranquility and rustic charm, enhanced by soft illumination from the lamps flanking the door. This piece features a unique home with a prominent door that is the centerpiece of this painting. Knife paintings allow for expression and creativity, and this artwork invites the viewer to enter rest from their internal labor. The heavenly light speaks of God’s grace and favor over our storms. The light from the doorway is prominent, while the water fountain and unique bench cause us to remember what it feels like to finally come home.
This painting was commissioned and completed on a gallery style 18 by 24-inch canvas and initially primed with a limited palette. Once dry, knifework was employed using an assortment of gorgeous colors to bring this piece to life. Rays of sunlight beam down and point the viewer towards the “doorway to life."
