"Heaven-Sent Lighthouse Seascape" was completed on May 23, 2024.
A lighthouse stands on a rocky outcrop amidst choppy, green sea waters, with a beam of light piercing through the dramatic clouds above. The sky is a mix of dark and light, suggesting an atmospheric scene of changing weather, possibly a storm clearing or brewing.
This painting was composed and completed on a 14 by 18-inch canvas and initially primed with shades of green acrylic and left to dry. A limited palette of oil colors was used to create a stunning seascape that features a lighthouse sunlit amidst the churning ocean around it. Rays of sunlight beam down and lighten the stormy waters as birds of prey prepare to hunt for their daytime meal. A combination of brush and knife painting was called upon during this trip to the canvas.
The original artwork is dedicated to my father, a life-long pastor and lover of seascapes, especially lighthouses. "Heaven-Sent" was chosen because of the turmoil he went through in his health this year and the hand of God on his life. This painting is available in print with many options to choose from. Also available are prints with a scripture reference.
