Description of artwork

A serene landscape features a dramatic, colorful sky with swirling clouds casting a warm glow over a tranquil lake. A small cabin sits nestled among evergreens, while mountains loom in the background, creating a sense of peaceful solitude.

"Simple Splendor" was painted with a palette knife on a giant canvas. Simple in its design, but breathtaking in its beauty, “Simple Splendor” reminds this artist of the views in and around Puget Sound. A woman removes herself from the hustle and bustle of routines and takes in this scenic setting, complete with a rustic cabin.

Inspiration: When I was a child my family and I visited a cabin on Hood Canal in Washington state and this scene conjures up more than a few memories. Distant hills and towns across the sound invite the viewer to stop and take in the serenity of “Simple Splendor.” Various size prints are now available.
